The tradition of midwifery requires unconditionally supporting the birthing family in their journey through pregnancy, labor, birth and postpartum. I honor the way in which pregnancy is a normal physiological event and that giving birth is a deeply primal act that beats to the rhythm of its own primordial drum. I trust birth and believe that women have an instinctive bond with their unborn baby, the innate ability to birth naturally and do so best in an environment where they feel most safe and comfortable.

I respect individual sovereignty and look to my clients to determine every step of the decision-making process for their birth. In order for the woman to truly be the authority in the room they must be put at the center of their own care. In addition, I support childbirth as a family centered event and see my role as strengthening, not disturbing the family’s power of unity. Families should have the experience they want and I encourage special requests when planning for your birth. Birthing outside of the standard medical system requires taking full responsibility in physically, emotionally and spiritually preparing for birth.

It is every person’s birth right to receive quality and respectful care. I am committed to providing equal care to all individuals I serve regardless of race, religion, family structure, culture, ethnicity, psychosocial well-being and socioeconomic situation. Sliding scale options are available for those in need of financial assistance and the level of care will not be compromised because of any kind of discount.
